IW Met Service have issued a yellow weather warning for fog across the Isle of Wight and the Solent area between 22:00 tonight (Thursday) and 13:00 tomorrow afternoon.
Forecasters say that fog patches will develop overnight and these will become widespread and dense in places, leading to significantly reduced visibility in some locations across the Island as the night goes on.
Fog is likely to dissipate across more central, western and northern parts of the Isle of Wight as we move into Friday morning, but the risk will continue for a while longer in the east and south including the eastern Solent.
It is expected that the fog may well lift into low cloud on Friday afternoon with locations further west and north seeing clearer spells.
Travel disruption is likely in some places which includes cross Solent travel.
