Local forecasters IW Met Service say that low cloud and coastal mist in the West will gradually become more widespread as the night goes on. By dawn, widespread fog patches, which will be rather dense in places, are likely to affect the Island with very poor visibility locally.
The fog will gradually burn off after sunrise with long sunny spells developing by mid-morning, although a few localised fog patches may linger on the East and South Coast until midday.
Islanders should expect travel delays, especially if travelling at first light. Particular attention should be paid to Red Funnel’s Hi-Speed and vehicle ferry routes to Southampton.
The warning is in force from 21:00 tonight (Monday) until 10:00 tomorrow.
Temperatures are expected to reach the mid to high 20s as the week goes on, with things feeling rather humid. You can get the latest weather forecast for the Isle of Wight by visiting www.iwmetservice.co.uk.
