UPDATED: FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO SMOULDERING COMBINE NEAR GODSHILL

The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service is responding to reports of a large vehicle alight near Godshill this afternoon (Monday).

Firefighters from Newport and Shanklin have made up the 2 appliances which have been mobilised to the scene off Sheepwash Lane, at the south of Godshill village.

It’s understood that the fire – possibly involving an agricultural vehicle – is now out.

The alarm was raised at just before 15:25.

UPDATE @ 16:04 – It’s been confirmed that the crews have dampened down a smouldering combine harvester
