UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have mobilised multiple appliances to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport this evening (Sunday).
2 appliances and an aerial ladder platform are currently on scene at Parkhurst Road.
Crews were mobilised at around 18:50.
UPDATE @ 19:50 – It has been confirmed that the call out was initiated when a member of the public reported seeing flames exiting the on-site plant room.
However, investigations soon discovered that it was in fact a mixture of steam and an LED light.
All resources have stood down from the false alarm (with good intent).
