Firefighters from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance at the site of the former Ocean Hotel for the third time in 3 days.
Sandown’s retained appliance was called to the scene at Sandown High Street to investigate the sound of a fire alarm from the building at around 18:00 this evening (Monday).
Crews are investigating the building for the source of the alarm – and for any signs of fire or otherwise that may have triggered it.
UPDATED @ 18:31 – Having completed a thorough check of the building without finding evidence of any issues, firefighters have now stood down from the scene.

I think some one is playing silly buggers with the fire brigade which is not good while they are checking this second hoax they could be needed for real
I went by the the empty CarlLauren property yesterday and the day before and could hear an alarm going off inside. It’s just down from the Ocean hotel. I will go again today and if it’s still going off i will contact the authorities.
Had the police dealt with the trespassing, would the fire had actually happened? The fire brigade have returned for 2 days on the trot because of the alarm to the now bankrupt carlauren office. Strangely the police can’t do anything?
