UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have been called to the waste recovery park in Newport this evening (Thursday).
3 appliances from Newport and Cowes, plus the aerial ladder platform and Incident Command Unit from Newport are all on scene at Forest Road having been alerted to a potential incident at the newly built factory at around 19:00.
1 fire engine is in action.
UPDATE @ 20:05 – All resources have now stood down from the incident.
It has been confirmed that a small fire broke out in a hopper, but the fire was extinguished by on site staff prior to the arrival of the fire service.
