UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and resources from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are responding to a hazard materials incident in Freshwater this morning (Friday).
2 fire appliances from Newport and Freshwater have been mobilised to Summers Court alongside an ambulance and ambulance officer from Newport.
The alert came in shortly before 08:55.
UPDATE @ 09:53 – It has been confirmed that paramedics were called to a bungalow at Summers Court earlier this morning, where an individual was in a ‘disorientated state’.
With fears of a hazardous material present, the fire service were called to the scene.
Firefighters entered the property wearing breathing apparatus and used a gas monitor to exam the area.
The scene has been declared safe and all resources have now been stood down, save for 1 ambulance which remains on scene.
