UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance at St Mary’s Hospital in Newport tonight (Monday) as a result of an alarm activation.
It’s understood 2 appliances – 1 from Newport and 1 from Cowes – have responded to the alert, which came in shortly before 20:00.
It is the latest in a string of call outs to the hospital in recent weeks.
UPDATE – The incident has been confirmed as a false alarm.
Resources have been stood down.
