Those using Wightlink’s Yarmouth to Lymington car ferry service are facing delays this evening (Friday) as a result of a crew member sustaining an injury.
According to passengers, an engineer has fallen down a flight of stairs and requires medical attention.
An ambulance has been requested to attend Lymington ferry terminal where Wight Light is currently being held.
The 18:00 sailing from Lymington has been cancelled as well as the 20:05 sailing form Lymington and the 19:00 and 21:10 from Yarmouth.
It’s understood that the injured crew member is the Chief Engineer and therefore the ferry cannot sail without his presence, or a replacement Chief Engineer.
Those on board the cancelled 18:00 are to be transferred onto the next available sailing – the delayed 18:05 from Yarmouth.
