A woman in her 20s has sustained injuries as a result of a collision between her motorcycle and a car near Cowes this afternoon (Tuesday).
Police and paramedics were called to Chawton Lane at the junction with Newport Road over an hour ago following reports of a road traffic collision between a motorcycle and a car.
Traffic on the main Cowes to Newport road is severely delayed as a result with reports of cars queuing back to St Mary’s roundabout.
Meanwhile in the West Wight, emergency services are tending to a motorcyclist who has been seriously injured as a result of a collision on Heathfield Road.
UPDATE – The scene has now been cleared and traffic is returning to normal levels.
The collision involved a white Range Rover and a motorcycle, it has been confirmed.
