Firefighters have responded to reports of a fire at a home in Ryde this morning (Friday).
The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service mobilised 2 appliances from Ryde to the scene on Slade Road following an emergency call at around 10:15.
Ryde’s wholetime crew has arrived on the scene and conducted an initial investigation, but no signs of active fire have been found.
The crew is utilising Positive Pressure Ventilation at the property, whilst Ryde’s second appliance – crewed by retained firefighters – has stood down en-route.
It’s understood that the fire was out on arrival.
UPDATE @ 10:46 – Smouldering clothes have been removed from the property following the attendance of firefighters to reports of an overheating cooking appliance.
PPV has been used to rid the property of smoke and firefighters have now stood down from the incident with no injuries reported.
