A mains leak has forced the closure of a busy road between Ryde and Seaview today (Monday).
Emergency repairs to pipework under the tarmac will see Nettlestone Hill closed from its junction with Nettlestone Green to its junction with Pondwell Hill, whilst Southern Water carries out repairs.
From 11:00 this morning the road was closed, with the closure in place until Friday 6th August or until the works are complete, should that be sooner.
The diversion that’s been put in place will affect roads including Nettlestone Green, Eddington Road, Upper Green Road, Carpenters Road, Beaper Shute, Brading Road, Bullen Road and Pondwell Hill.

The island’s infrastructure is so poor.
Expect ever more of this sort of thing as more and more homes are built but the pipes feeding them are old and not replaced, and to cover the huge amount of new houses the water pressure is increased more and more to cope with demand.
This causes more burst pipes which we will all have to pay for by increased water bills..
Seriously change the record . You (and all your multiple aliases) are seriously tedious.
2nd leak in a week in that area, there also seems to be one outside the Londis shop been there ages.
The diversions will basically affect the whole island because its that small.
