A driver that failed to stop for Police evaded pursuing officers during a chase through Binstead estate yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).
Officers attempted to stop a VW Golf GTI for no insurance and a smell of cannabis on Binstead Road at just before 13:30. However, the driver failed to stop and led Police on a pursuit through the residential streets of Binstead.
The pursuit is thought to have proceeded up Binstead Lodge Road and down Verwood Drive onto Newnham Road, with the grey Golf then turning right onto Newnham Lane. It’s here that officers are thought to have lost sight of the vehicle.
Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that the vehicle was not located.

so.. as it is not too difficult to evade plod these days, as they are far to worried about offending anyone what did they do next?
did they turn up at the owners property at a leisurely pace, after running the number plate through the police database, to discuss the matter – or have they just given up
iowighter, the cars probably not registered either. Best thing they could do is publish the number plate and let the public locate it for them.
It’s probably a false number plate.
Couldn’t the police have had some fun using a stinger like they do on tele?
We’re no different from the City’s now, we have lost this island to the lowlife scumbags, they are like a cancer infecting us all…
Why was I deleted 6 hours ago? I only asked the question ‘how did the police smell cannabis if the vehicle failed to stop?’
Another one gets away
To breed more of themselves….
I think the new PCC should allow the Chief Constable to authorise the fitting of heavy canon to the front of all patrol cars… James Bond style !
They should have number plate recognition sites at all petrol stations to check legality
of cars , if flagged up they get no petrol.
Anyone want to place bets on the driver having one arm ?..
