Domino’s is allegedly refusing to deliver to the town of East Cowes after being inundated with complaints from local residents.
A regular customer of the Newport-based delivery service recently called the store to ask why they were no longer making their way to her home address.
The Pepperoni Passion lover had previously been getting Domino’s delivered up to 3 times a month without issue.
To her shock, the customer was told that the store is no longer delivering to her area as East Cowes residents keep complaining and ‘getting aggy’.
When the unnamed customer emailed in to, ironically, complain about the matter, she received a rather rude response from store staff stating:
“As discussed on the phone this is the exact reason we do not service East Cowes anymore. Head office simply forward the complaints to us.
“Thank you for confirming we made the right choice”.
Despite the verbal and written confirmation from Domino’s Newport that they are not delivering to the area due to its residents, the company has blamed the decision on a lack of drivers.
A spokesperson for Dominos has said:
“One of our core values is no one delivers like Domino’s and providing a high quality of service to our delivery customers is a priority for us.
“Unfortunately, like many businesses, the Domino’s Newport store is currently challenged with a shortage of drivers. As a result, the store has had to reduce its delivery catchment area and we are currently unable to deliver to the East Cowes area. This decision means we can continue our high standards of service for our delivery customers who live closer to the store.
“We appreciate this is disappointing to pizza lovers in the East Cowes area but customers can rest assured we are doing all we can to get more drivers on-board quickly so we can resume deliveries.
“We’re working with the franchisee and store to ensure complaints are managed in the correct manner moving forward”.

May I suggest a boycott is in order.Try some of the independent pizza shops.
well – chances are the customers that have been refused delivery are self entitled, arrogant, lazy benefit spongers, who think the world owes them a living. They are barking orders from their sofas, in their pyjamas, playing xbox, making some poor sod battle through the driving rain, to bring them their pizza and for what…. a mouthful of abuse and complaints – they can get their own pizza from the shop – lazy lowlives.
If they had a few serious competitors they wouldn’t have that attitude.
Sadly they don’t over here.
Yes, they do! Totties in Totland do magnificent pizza to rival Dominoes any day.
Domino’s (weak) explanation is no excuse for such a disgraceful response to the customer’s complaint. Where’s the apology, and for that matter, free pizza ??
Would that free pizza would be a ‘Get-Stuffed crust’ by any chance?
I don’t blame them not wanting to there getting abuse. People are so rude these days .
Dominoes are not cheap…. Orders 3 times a month!.
I was also going to add… Yes, support the independent. You may find them more customer focussed and friendly as they will be grateful for the business.
Or perhaps get up from the sofa – switch on the oven and put in a bought prepared pizza from one of many well known food stores, (£2 + odd) – to have a much less expensive and far better tasting actually hot option – and no waiting for the lukewarm effort from the scooter boy who will eventually finds your address.
What sort of moron gives abuse to Dominos delivery drivers? They’re young boys who turn up on scooters and give you a box with pizza in it. Why would you even pick a fight with them?
Dominos should deliver to areas where their staff feel safe and abuse is minimal.
If some areas are discontinued for not meeting these criteria, it’s understandable.
Nothing worse than literally going the extra mile for a customer only to be met with self entitled arrogance, and a lack of appreciation for your efforts.
Never been a delivery driver, but I see these folk out on dark wet and cold nights for little financial reward, trying to make their way in life, they also worked through covid keeping peoples needs met and had very little recognition for it.
In the current economic climate, with less disposable income, how can people order food to go any more? Especially Dominoes at £20 a pop?
Oh well it’s only east cowes not the end of the world
