With winter firmly upon us, Hampshire Constabulary are warning car owners not to leave their vehicles unattended when clearing ice and frost from the windscreen.
3 cars were stolen from driveways in Southampton this morning (Wednesday) as drivers across the region were met with icy conditions.
It may seem logical to start the engine and warm the car up but leaving a vehicle unattended is putting your motor at risk of theft.
Police have taken to Twitter this morning to say:
“We’re advising residents not to leave vehicles unattended with the engine running.
“This morning we’ve had three reports of cars have been stolen from driveways while they’ve been left defrosting in the Southampton and Totton areas.
“Anyone with info should call us on 101”.
