Newport and Carisbrooke Community Council’s annual family-friendly Day of Christmas event is back, with the festive event taking place this coming Saturday (16th November) from 10:00-18:00.
St James’ Square, St Thomas’ Square and the Parish Centre (opposite Subway) will be abuzz with families and children enjoying the celebrations on offer – a day filled with joy, laughter and holiday cheer.
Visitors can expect live performances on stage in St James’ Square from the likes of Maurice Kachuk, Huxley Magic, Jimi and Annies Duet Show, Vectis Brass Band, The Starlight Academy and Emelia, as well as a whole host of other entertainment including living statues, roaming magic from David Randini and the opportunity to meet characters from Enchanted Isle.
The Minster in St Thomas’ Square is hosting an indoor market, live performances from a choir as well as a brass band. Outside the Minster, there will be free amusements and rides from Vintage Isle Amusements as well as a display from Time Jump Histories.
The day will conclude at 18:00 when Santa will switch on the town’s Christmas lights for 2024!
