2 people on a kayak were rescued by Yarmouth RNLI lifeboat in the area of Hamstead Ledge earlier this evening (Saturday).
Solent Coastguard tasked rescue assets including Yarmouth’s All Weather Lifeboat and The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team at 17:54 following reports that 2 individuals – a man and his daughter – had found themselves in a spot of bother.
The pair were quickly located between Cranmore and Newtown before being recovered from the shore by the lifeboat crew. Needles CRT were stood down and returned to station by 18:15.
Lymington Coastguard Rescue Team were requested to meet with the casualties at their home port of Lymington.
