UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are attending to a cyclist who has been injured following a road traffic incident in Shanklin this afternoon (Monday).
It is thought the elderly gentleman has come off his pushbike at the top of St John’s Road, where it connects with Victoria Avenue.
Paramedics and an ambulance officer are on scene alongside a number of local Police units.
Emergency services were summoned to the incident at just before 16:35.
St John’s Road is currently closed to traffic.
UPDATE @ 17:21 – A 70-year-old man is being conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
