51-year-old Peter Hayday has been given a custodial sentence of 42 months by the Portsmouth Crown Court after treating his best friend ‘like a lump of meat’ when he dumped his dead body in a Sandown street.
As first reported by Island Echo back in July 2014, the body of 44-year-old Chris ‘Boo’ Parsons was discovered in Cross Street, Sandown at around 23:00 on the night of 5th July.
A full investigation was launched and after Peter Hayday’s car was captured on CCTV, he was arrested by Police on suspicion of murder. The charge was later dropped as the investigation continued and he was charged with regards to possession of heroin with intent to supply.
Mr Parsons died as a result of an overdose.
Court 1 at Portsmouth heard on Monday morning that Hayday, of Station Road, Brading, was concerned in the supply of heroine and methadone – a charge he pleaded guilty to alongside a charge of perverting the course of justice. He also pleaded guilty to having nearly £6000 in cash from the proceeds of crime.
Hayday has been sentenced to a total of three-and-a-half years for the three offences.
