2 men have been arrested on suspicion of stealing a car and possession of Class A drugs after a crash in Newport during the early hours of this morning (Monday).At approximately 00:10, Police responded to a collision involving a blue van that had crashed into a parked car and ended up sideways across the carriageway close to the Winston Road junction on Whitepit Lane.
Upon arrival, officers noticed a plastic bag being thrown over a fence, which was later seized and found to contain a number of pills. As a result, a 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs.
A 2nd man, a 24-year-old, ran from the scene but was pursued by officers on foot and apprehended. He was found to also have a small bag of pills in his possession and was also arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs.
Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that both men also have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking, with the 24-year-old also arrested under suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs.
They both remain in custody at this time.

Likely a driving ban and the car crushed, and, as they stole the car, and will drive another stolen one licence or not, they could not care less.
For the one time caught they will be thousands of times they have done the similar and made a tax free fortune.
And for the one caught there will be thousands of others not caught and never will be.
God help your children, as by the time they are parents themselves life here will be very very much worse.
