The Cowes Floating Bridge has returned to service this afternoon (Monday) following a technical issue yesterday.
As previously reported, the Cowes Floating Bridge was taken out of service on Sunday evening, following an issue with the vessel’s generators.
This morning the Isle of Wight Council released an update of the situation.
“Our contractor is on-site working on the generator that has resulted in the suspension of the Floating Bridge service.
“The Isle of Wight Council apologises for the inconvenience.”
The council said the service resumed at 14:00.

It doesn’t seem very well made. We have had our car for twenty two years now, and it doesn’t have the problems this boat has either.
Hope our council tax rates doesn’t go up to pay for it all. Was far cheaper when it was on the water rates, never saw these councillors so highly paid then, they just picked good working people with knowledge of what they were in charge of. now it seems they pay someone a fortune who knows nothing about the area they are in charge of so they just employ more people who do know adding to all the costs.
Sack the top ones, but they of course are the ones who decides who is sacked, so they just shuffle them around to keep the people happy, they think we are daft
