A footpath in Lake has been closed due to a small cliff fall following a day of torrential downpours.
Island Roads were called to Cliff Road last night (Saturday) when it was reported that debris had fallen onto a footpath, which leads from Cliff Road to the Sandown-Shanklin revetment below.
Although only a small amount of earth has actually landed on the footpath itself, there are concerns about the stability of the cliff face.
Authorities are keeping an eye on the area and will make a decision about re-opening the path in due course.
Pedestrians should avoid the area and heed the closure notices.
