As the cost-of-living crisis continues to rear its ugly head, Citizens Advice Isle of Wight has seen a huge number of inquiries from local people struggling to stay on top of their household bills and are looking for more volunteers to help people in need of their services.
Chief Officer, Paul Savill said:
“Thanks to the tireless dedication of its volunteers and staff, the charity has continued to give essential advice and crisis support to help people find a way forward”.
Vital funds are needed to recruit and train more volunteers. On average, across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, it costs £970 a year to recruit and train a volunteer adviser.
Their financial modelling tool shows that in 2021/22 the total value of Citizens Advice volunteers to Hants & IOW was £4.8 million. Following on from Volunteers’ Week, which ran from 1 to 7 June 2022, Citizens Advice Isle of Wight is calling for local businesses, organisations and individuals to sponsor a volunteer by donating as much as they can.
For more information and to make a donation please contact Citizens Paul Savill at [email protected] or for all the opportunities to pass on to potential volunteers please visit their Island website.

this is all by design –
cost push inflation, increases government revenue, which allows them to pay their debts quicker.
Oil prices will remain high and probably go higher….you will never get full mainstream adoption of electric cars, if oil/petrol remains cheap.
to drive the change for a combination of wind/solar/nuclear/geothermal/hydro providing all the countries electric, you need oil and gas to be sufficiently expensive to make the populace demand change, to the now cheaper renewables.
