Light up the Wight, the Isle of Wight’s official Christmas lights map and competition, is back for 2024!
Families from across the Island are expected to jump in their cars – or on the now-sold-out Southern Vectis tour bus – to explore the amazing variety of Christmas lights displays across the Isle of Wight this December, before voting for their favourite online.
24 twinkling displays are included on this year’s map, which can now be downloaded as a PDF at www.islandecho.co.uk/xmas. An interactive Google Map is also available.
Last year’s winner, Goldcrest Close in Carisbrooke, will be hoping to secure another podium place, as will 2023’s runners-up Wellesley Way in Newport and Bannock Road in Whitwell.
Southern Vectis has once again teamed up with Island Echo to sponsor the festive competition with a £700 prize pot for the Island’s best displays, as voted for by you. You can vote for your favourite display by visiting https://www.islandecho.co.uk/xmas/vote/.
To download the official map and vote for your favourite display head over to www.islandecho.co.uk/xmas.
Voting closes on 31st December 2024 and the winners will be announced in early January. Some displays may not be switched on until later in December due to work commitments and how the weekends fall…
Every year my winner is Whitwell, it gets better all the
time.
When are the COUNCIL going to put up some Christmas lights? We paid for them!
They are using the money for their extortionate
expense claims and extortionate pension pots.
