A woman whose car had its catalytic converter stolen last week has issued a plea to help find her missing Cat – which disappeared around the same time as the theft in Ningwood.
A thief entered Catherine Cameron-Martin’s property on Station Road and stole the entire exhaust system and catalytic converter from her Toyota Prius in the early hours of last Tuesday morning (26th July).
It was this time that her cat LouLou was last seen after she was let out of the house as usual.
Her owner suspects that the cat might have jumped into the thief’s car or van and was inadvertently taken away.
Police are investigating the incident.
Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of LouLou can contact her owner Catherine via phone on 07748120738.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary has said:
“We encourage anyone with information, or who has been affected by this type of crime in the area, to contact police on 101, quoting 44220301559.
“For more information on catalytic converter theft, and preventative measures you can take to protect your vehicle, visit https://www.hampshire.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/keeping-vehicles-safe/catalytic-converter-theft/

The police will take a report, and end it there. Nothing will happen by them
I think I know what occurred here. Likely two people to remove an exhaust, and if one not too bright, the accomplice may have said ” Don’t forget the Cat” when the pieces of exhaust were scattered around.
The dim one then assumed it was the ladies pu ssy, perhaps assuming it could be held for ransom money, and bagged it up.
Now likely released on some social housing estate where the low lives live, and could be walking back to its poor owner.
Hope it makes it safely back as most distressing for her
Low lives??? The nicest, kindest, working, disabled, low cost, helpful, respectful of people you could ever know live in social housing and they stick together.
the cat was probably the thief….cat was last seen after being let out, which would have been near the car.
fingers Felix is probably spending his ill gotten gains with the other thieving moggies right now in some hideaway
These converters cost around £1000 too replace, it’s a massive problem on the mainland….Now we’ve got the problem on the island, and we have to except this enriched invasion infestation on our once lovely island..
More scum will be along soon…
Certainly the cost to the country of imported so called cheap labour is working out very very expensive in both monetary terms and the quality of life for all the indigenous who aren’t the employers of such so have all the bad, yet none of the good.
Houses are rarer and more expensive, crime and prisons are are at maximum capacity, welfare, maternity handouts are at an all time high and never before has it been so unsafe for females to be out after dark.
That is without the risk of terrorist attacks since enrichment.
I don’t think it was worth it, far more fiscally viable to just cut tax credits and get our people back to work.
Poor cats, hope they are reunited with their owners.
I would batter the scumbags if I caught anyone doing that to my car. Sadly the law would be in their favour.
It’s not murder if there’s no body?
just be sure not to use hurty words or show a doctored alphabet flag and you’ll be fine.
The island is full of scumbags
Its all too common now on the island. Its getting like a fourth world country
People of Ill nature and poor thinking be ware: you harm a cat, and the unseen world knows you.
You will pay.
And if the guardian gets you first, you may well wish to crawl back inside the womb that bore you.
Old School, seems to me your reply is akin to those who assume karma, God, or luck will punish vile people.
Yet imo, I think that such statements come from weak people, too afraid to do anything themselves, and too gutless to admit that vile people DO get away with such things and have a better life than those who sit around assuming an invisible force will make them pay.
The only certain thing is, the courts won’t even if they are caught as now, we have the third world filling such, that there is no room for many others, and, with they way they increase, there never ever will be again.
See the real issue here.
No such thing as God, youd find that out if you messed with my cat.
Yes. Check out the Netflix ‘Don’t f### With Cats’ programme.spot on.
Ill have what you been drinking
You couldn’t handle it.
Shakespeare was a canny old chap: “there are more things in heaven and earth…….” etc. etc. Like it or not, there is no denying “you reap what you sow”.
How distressing for the poor cat owner. Surely there must be some cctv footage from that night in the vicinity. This seems to be a very specific crime. Could it be that these theives knew where to go and that this cc was stolen to order? I do hope the pet cat can be found and returned home. Very sad.
