The case against an East Cowes man accused of exposing himself on numerous occasions has been withdrawn after fears were raised about his fitness to plea.
67-year-old Henry Rann, of Kings Road, first appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court back in October charged with 3 counts of exposure in his home-town, between 21st July and 7th August 2024.
It was alleged that the former pot washer was seen in the nude from the waist down in his own home and that on one occasion he walked into the street whilst exposed. Mr Rann never entered a plea to the matters.
Appearing before a judge at the Isle of Crown Court on 11th November 2024, concerns were raised about Mr Rann’s fitness to plea after he was quizzed on several matters by His Honour Judge Ashworth.
At another Crown Court hearing earlier this month, the Crown Prosecution Service deemed it was not in the public interest to proceed with the case against Mr Rann and withdrew the matters.
