Carpetright has collapsed into administration, putting the future of its Isle of Wight store in doubt. It has been revealed today (Friday) that the leading flooring retailer has appointed PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as administrators. The national chain is working to find additional investment to secure the long-term future of the firm, but it is unclear how this will pan out. A total of 272 stores and 1,852 jobs are now at risk. It comes just 6 years after 92 stores were closed. It’s said that financial pressures as a result of a cyberattack earlier this year are to blame, with Carpetright seeking a ‘period of protection’ while negotiations on its sale continue. Kevin Barrett, CEO of Nestware Holdings, which owns Carpetright, has said:
“We remain focussed on securing external investment to ensure as few customers and colleagues are impacted as possible. “They are our main priority and we are taking all appropriate action to make sure they are informed and supported through this process.”
Carpetright continues to trade as normal at this time.

Just the start of mass unemployment which always follows a Liebour Government.
Lucky we haven’t hundreds of extra mouths to feed, bodies to treat and people to be housed and eventually find jobs for as the world needs less manual workers with high tech and AI reducing the need for people.
Should have voted Reform, too late now
Funny how you managed to put a poxy Deform post under a totally unrelated story, to try to slag off the election result. Deform lost. Get over it.
Absolutely. Just amazing how a new Labour government can wreck the economy in barely a week. Eejit.
To be fair, Liz Truss managed it.
Absolutely clueless! Carpetright’s troubles started more than 6 years ago. You can’t even spell ‘Labour’, either.
I think Liebour is the correct spelling…at least by interpretation and reputation.
Like “Vote Lieve”, then, considering how many of their Brexit promises were fake.
Another one bites the dust.
No shit. Two poor souls sat there to do bugger all, all day every day
I bet the CEO Kevin will still get paid a bonus on top of his huge salary. Savings should start at the top if they care about the company
bad for multinationals good for independents
The true state of the country is now coming out. Tories lied and hid so much from us. The country has never been in such a state. And yet the ones guilty of this walk free with millions of tax payers money in their pockets.
