UPDATED: A car has rolled and come to a stop on its side on Middle Road near Calbourne this morning (Friday).
Police, fire and ambulance crews are all in attendance at the scene close to Calbourne Water Mill.
It’s understood they were called to the single vehicle collision at sometime around 06:45.
Thankfully, the male driver of the car has escaped any serious injury. He is being conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital suffering from broken ribs and mild whiplash.
The busy road between Newport and Freshwater is passable with care under the direction of Police.
Recovery has been arranged.
UPDATE @ 08:16 – The vehicle has now been recovered.
The road is now clear.
