UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are attending a car fire at a farm on the outskirts of Newport this lunchtime (Friday).
1 appliance from Newport was mobilised to Noke Farm off the main Newport to Cowes road at just before midday when plumes of black smoke billowed into the sky.
Firefighters have brought the situation under control, but remain in attendance.
The water carrier from Freshwater is currently en-route to the incident.
UPDATE @ 12:45 – The water carrier is now on scene and is supplying water in order to damp down the area.
No one has been injured.
