A car has crashed into a lamp post outside HMP Isle of Wight and St Mary’s Hospital this afternoon (Wednesday).
Police are currently on scene having been called to the incident at 14:22.
Traffic is reported to be heavy in the area as a result of the incident, with cars backing up to the Lidl sliproad on the northbound dual carriageway.
No one is thought to have been seriously injured, but the vehicle has sustained damage. Fuel and oil is leaking onto the carriageway.
Southern Vectis is warning about possible delays to their Route 1 and Route 52 buses.
UPDATE – The scene has now been cleared and traffic has returned to normal levels.
