Wightlink has announced that a number of sailings on its Yarmouth-Lymington route have been cancelled today (Wednesday) due to a mechanical issue.
The 13:00, 15:00, 17:00 and 18:55 sailing from Lymington have all been cancelled, alongside the 14:05, 16:05, 18:05 and 19:45 sailings from Yarmouth.
Customers will be moved to alternative times.
It’s understood that one of the ferries has been sent to Falmouth for an annual refit, leaving the service short.
Wightlink apologise for the changes to your travel plans.

Yet strangely, the third ferry is just tied up at Lymington….
Atleast they didn’t blame it on the fuel crisis
Good old Wightlink..vying with CalMac for first place in the worst most unreliable UK. ferry service…or maybe Floating Bridge No 6 is still in first place.
As soon as the Festival has ended we are back to the Wightlink mechanical and staffing issues. So called planned maintenance/refit suddenly appears at a hours notice. Unbelievable!!!
Didn’t take long to get back the usual poor excuses. Once holiday makers go home and the festival is over. Its embarrassing
Build a fixed link and put these pirates out of business. I do not want one but it’s the only option we have.
i now agree we should have now a fixed link for our childrens sake .bring back Carl Feaney
