Hampshire Constabulary is appealing to the public to help locate a missing 49-year-old woman from Newport.
As first reported by Island Echo, a missing person search was launched this afternoon involving police, WightSAR, and the National Police Air Service helicopter.
Police say that Sara Plowman was last seen at her partner’s address on Cavendish Place, Newport, yesterday evening (Friday 27 August) at 23:00.
Police, along with Sara’s family, are growing increasingly concerned for her safety and are now asking the general public to report any sightings to them
Officers believe that Sara is likely to still be in Newport.
Sara is described as white, 5foot 4inches, of larger build, and with dark hair of almost shoulder length. Police have released this passport photo of Sara in the hope that someone may have seen her.
Officers say that they appreciate that the photo isn’t the best quality, but unfortunately, it’s the only one available at this time.
It is not known what Sara was last wearing but it’s thought she could be in a beige cardigan and grey jogging bottoms.

UPDATE @ 19:55 – Hampshire Constabulary says that previously missing Sara has now been located.
