A double-decker coach has become stuck on a tight corner in a residential area of Binstead this morning (Saturday).
The Public Service Vehicle (PSV) has become stuck at the end of Grange Avenue with its junction with Winston Avenue.
The mainland-operated coach has completely blocked the junction resulting in locals having to divert.
Having mounted the grass verge, the coach appears to have grounded out as it emerged from Grange Avenue.
It remains unclear as to why the coach ended up driving through the windy residential estate in the first place.

What’s he doing going that way ?? , What’s the bet he was following a sat nav
More than likely trying to get around the road closure at Queens Road. Everyone is quick to slate drivers of large vehicles but it also seems that people are quick to steal the space they need to manoeuvre by either poor driving or bad parking. It doesn’t matter whether you use a satnav or a map to guide you. Neither tell you how high kerbs are, where street furniture is or where dips, rises, Cambers or breakover angles are. Many people leave their trees and hedges overhanging roads and footpaths.
People need to be more understanding of how their actions or lack of affect drivers of larger vehicles.
Part of being a driver is learning to read the type of road therefore an experienced driver of large vehicles should be able to tell just by looking at the area if his vehicle is too large for the road it has nothing to do with people not trimming hedges or trees so the only people that need to understand their actions in these situations is the idiot coach driver who hasn’t got the sense or intelect he was born with the only excuse this driver has is he is an idiot a moron and incompetent and shouldn’t be driving such vehicles
Was going to ask the same question
That is the lamest reply I have ever seen
I said the same thing as I was turning around to go back the same way. Surely these drivers are taught to use there brains before technology
Their not there.
Pretty much every satnav has a large vehicle setting
Mine doesn’t. I see a lot of large vehicles where they aren’t meant to be on a regular basis. There is probably an over-reliance on sat navs, but if you’re not from the area, what can you do?
Someone was playing with division Signs I bet
Common sense would have told him as a so called experienced driver not to attempt that manoeuvre! He’s obviously lacking a few grey cells!
Looks more like a double decker coach to me
The clue (double decker coach) is in the report.
Due to works in Farlee Rd and Esplanade Ryde the poor driver was following his updated Sat Nav from Island Roads. They was heading for ferry at Yarmouth. Will have to show his skilful reversing – why police though not an Accident or speeding? – or is there more to this story?.
Councils NEW traffic calming measures come into effect!!!!
Another idiot will be along soon……
Why the hell would you take a vehicle that size down there? Should get himself a sat nav which is designed especially for large vehicles.
