Bullen Road in Ryde has been closed to motorists in both directions this morning (Tuesday) due to a burst water main.
Southern Water engineers are on site and are working to repair the main.
The closure is in force from Cothey Way to Pondwell with all vehicles being diverted via Marlborough Road, Appley Road and Calthorpe Road.
It is unknown how long the road will remain closed for but Southern Water have an initial 21 days to complete the repairs.
