A fake skeleton seen bobbing in the water at Puckpool was pulled from the sea by HM Coastguard this afternoon (Thursday). HM Coastguard Rescue Officers from Bembridge were called to Appley Beach at around 14:30 following reports from a member of the public that a ‘body’ was in the water. Having trawled along Garden Walk and then Appley Walk, it wasn’t until they reached an area near Puckpool that they spotted something – which looked like a skeleton – in the water, below the sea wall. A duo of officers kitted up in their water rescue gear and made their way through the shallow depths. Upon reaching the extremely realistic item, they were able to confirm to the crowds watching that the discovery was 100% fake. The item was retrieved from the water and taken back to shore.

Another excuse for Fake Dinosaur remains, bit like Scotland and their
invisible Loch Ness
Tourist attractions will do anything to attract punters
Best way to attract punters don’t charge 50p to have a P I S S
or excessive parking charges.
What on earth are you talking about!?
My condolences to it’s loved ones, I expect it came from France….
Fake means not real so no relatives except a moulding machine
!
Never heard of sarcasm then?
We all wish it had!
Fake means not real therefore no relatives except for a mould machine (possibly from France).
Are you sure as the skeleton looks white in the picture?
More likely a left over prop from the ‘Park of the Dead’ Halloween experience at the battery park last year…
Did you only read every other word lol
That’s sick there’s a missing person whom people are searching for. Some idiots do things like this and risk lives of rescue teams putting others at risk. Think people
What risk is that then. Paddle in the sea. Get real
All that remains of the average working man after all his taxes have been deducted.
I’m glad the Coastguards were not working with a skeleton staff !
hmm, sounds like a case for Sherlock Bones….
