Cowes RNLI and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team assisted a boat that was taking on water after hitting rocks in Osborne Bay late last night (Thursday).
Solent Coastguard requested the launch of Cowes’ Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat shortly before 22:30 after receiving reports that a vessel was in distress off the coast of the Isle of Wight.
The lifeboat was quickly on scene off East Cowes and was able to assist the vessel to Shepherds Wharf in Cowes. It’s here that Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team met with the casualty vessel to assist in stopping the water ingress whilst awaiting an emergency lift out of the water.
