Terror Island has announced an exclusive event, ‘Blue Light Night’, to honour and appreciate the dedicated emergency service and NHS workers who have been at the forefront of our community’s safety and well-being.
This exclusive event will take place on 6th October 2023, at Terror Island, located within the grounds of Blackgang Chine.
In recognition of their unwavering commitment, all emergency service personnel and NHS workers are invited to attend the exclusive Blue Light Night with complimentary entry to Terror Island. This special evening is a token of gratitude for their selfless dedication, bravery, and hard work, especially during these challenging times.

The Blue Light Night promises an extraordinary experience that combines the eerie thrill of the live action scare mazes, with the festival vibe of the Terror Island site as a whole, with live music, roaming entertainment, street food, cocktail bar, and the unlimited goes on Blackgang Chine rides in the the dark.
To secure a place at this exclusive event, eligible individuals are encouraged to reserve their free tickets through our convenient online booking system. Terror Island takes over Blackgang Chine and is open to the public from 18:00-23:00 on 27th, 28th, 29th Oct and 3rd, 4th Nov.
So what do normal workers get for free?
A large helping of bitterness, apparently.
You do have to admit though that all of this ‘Blue Light’ discount/special offers is something of a perverse kick in the teeth for ORDINARY working people.
We were encouraged to clap ourselves silly during Covid, and, yes SOME worked very hard, but…
Enough is enough.
Why do people EXPECT something for nothing so much these days, just for doing the job you chose?
And I’m going to pass on the MANY ‘vulnerable’ who are still getting cash handouts!
They don’t expect it, but it’s being offered. I didn’t see a campaign to get a free night for emergency services and NHS and care staff, but it has been kindly offered. It seems you’re the only one here with expectations, and those expectations seem to be ‘treat everyone as poorly as I act’. Grow up.
Furlough payments while nhs staff were working?
If you want a true taste of terror island, just visit any of the town centres of an evening. It’s completely free.
Or just attend A&E at St Marys….
So what about all the health care workers in the community and homes that worked tirelessly and very long hours to keep their residents of all ages safe . Its not just the NHS.Or the shop workers, delivery workers etc. Very bigoted
All NHS workers should be instructed to check-out the massive increase in excess-deaths across the UK that began from the start of 2021, and then ask themselves why?
They have blue light cards too. And I think you should look up the term ‘bigoted’ before making it obvious you’re uneducated.
I never quite understand why, if you do not agree with something, or do not like it, so many people take to belittling or degrading or just plain moaning about it? As you can see from the comments so far the general response seems to be “..why them? Why aren’t I getting something for nothing?..”
If you don’t like or agree then move on with your day and find something that does make you happy.
Well yes why them they already get blue light discounts in shops cafes car ferries and many other places now free entry to this what about other people that have worked had all their lives and don’t get discounts on daily basis
An excellent question Chris and one that I am afraid I do not have the answer for. Many jobs/employers have schemes with various retailers and other companies that benefit only their employees….why is this allowed you may ask? One answer might be that life is not equal and fair to all – regardless of how hard or how long you have worked?
My point however, was that we are all to quick to moan and gripe and pour scorn on things rather than just moving on past?
When I first joined one of the emergency services the Blue Light Card didn’t exist and there were very little discounts etc around. If companies want to say thanks to the various organisations covered under the card, why is that a problem? If you feel that strongly then start a group for other people and negotiate with companies to give you a discount.
What an absolute kick in the teeth to other workers
Maybe if they actually got back to work instead of all these strikes and treated people who have been on hospital lists for years waiting for treatment our ni pays for they might actually deserve this
Not all hospital staff are on strike, and remember some of us were stuck on isolation wards dealing with covid patients while most “workers” were sat at home for over a year on furlough.
