Police erected a cordon around a bloody crime scene in Ryde yesterday evening (Monday) after a man reported he had been approached by 4 men and assaulted over the weekend.
The incident is alleged to have occurred on the beach off North Walk at around 16:30 on Sunday afternoon (15th May).
A member of the public reported to Police that he had been approached by 4 men and then assaulted, receiving minor injuries including a bleeding lip.
Officers in the area yesterday located an amount of blood in a nearby shelter. As a result, a cordon was established to preserve the scene for further enquiries.
The cordon has since been removed.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call Hampshire Constabulary on 101, quoting crime reference 44220191924.

look at the state of that shelter – all that sand under the seating proves the council aren’t maintaining these places. The seating is dilapidated, paint peeling. It is a disgusting and uninviting place for people to use – mind you, with the council spending so much money on spongers and asylum seekers, it is no wonder.
They spend more on fancy signs to tell us the floating bridge isn’t working than they do on cleaning this shelter. It’s a disgrace!!

That shelter has always been disgusting, always littered, not nice graffiti, and the smell of piss.. it is disgusting just to walk past… like so many other places.. used to be a chap that did road sweeping, saw him cleaning it years ago… now if see a road sweeper about, usually standing someplace having a long smoke !!

Perhaps the I.O.W. Tourist board should do a special “Visit the Filthiest Shelters on the Island” feature. Terrible attack in a filthy shelter. The council can’t even clean shelters up, so there is no chance of them cleaning up their act either.
This is what happens when the NIMBY lot get their way. They destroy local business and force them to leave the island. People loose their jobs and turn to drink and drugs. The NIMBY lot are the cause of the decline on the island.
