
Police are investigating the theft of 2 bikes from East Cowes today (Sunday), 1 of which was taken from the hands of a 13-year-old boy.
The nipper was stood with his bike by Waitrose on Well Road when 3 men, thought to be aged in their 20s, walked up to him and took the bike from his possession.
The Bantu mountain bike was a birthday present for the teen last month.
Hampshire Constabulary have been informed of the shocking incident and officers are investigating accordingly.
A second incident has also occurred in East Cowes tonight. A Cannondale mountain bike has been stolen from outside the town’s liberal club. Although the bike was secured with a lock, it’s owner Simon Butler returned to find the lock cut in 2.
The theft has also been reported to Hampshire Constabulary.
