UPDATED: A car has left the carriageway and come to rest high up on a grass verge on Middle Road near Calbourne this afternoon (Friday).
Emergency services, including the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, are currently attending the incident near to Swainston Manor between Newport and Calbourne.
The incident, which has involved an Audi, occurred at just before 14:55.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
UPDATE @ 15:30 – Police and paramedics remain at the scene, in which a silver Audi A3 has left the road before spinning and coming to rest high up on a bank.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have stood down from the incident with the occupants having freed themselves from the wreckage.
No one is thought to have sustained any serious injuries in the crash, which has caused significant damage to the vehicle’s roof.
The road remains open under Police direction, however may require a short closure to allow for recovery of the vehicle.
UPDATE @ 18:30 – The incident has now been cleared and the vehicle recovered by Bartletts Service Station.
3 people have been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.
