The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has landed in Sandown this lunchtime (Friday) in response to a medical emergency in the area.
Flying doctors have landed at the rugby playing field off Perowne Way to assist local crews from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
An ambulance crew, rapid response paramedic and operational commander have all rendezvoused at the rugby field car park.
The air ambulance was scrambled from its base at Thruxton, near Andover, at around 11:40 and landed just after midday.
UPDATE – Following an initial assessment, doctors have travelled with the patient to St Mary’s Hospital by land ambulance.
The helicopter has taken off from Sandown and has now relocated to the helipad at St Mary’s Hospital, Newport.
Hope the person is ok? Is there any updates anyone know?
