The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has been scrambled to a medical emergency in the West Wight this afternoon (Thursday).
Medics onboard the Thruxton-based aircraft have touched down on the Green in Yarmouth.
The yellow and green helicopter landed at just before 14:30 having been alerted to the incident at around 14:10.
Doctors and paramedics are currently assisting colleagues from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service. It’s thought a person has collapsed in the street.
UPDATE @ 16:20 – The air ambulance has lifted off from Yarmouth and has relocated to St Mary’s Hospital’s helipad in Newport
UPDATE @ 18:55 – After nearly 5 hours off base, the air ambulance is returning to Thruxton.
It’s understood the patient was stabilised at St Mary’s and has now been transferred to the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.
