The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has landed in the West Wight to assist the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service with an ongoing incident in Totland this afternoon (Friday).
Paramedics are reported to be in attendance at The Waterfront in Totland, having initially responded to the scene at around 15:25.
Island Echo understands that a medical emergency has prompted the rapid response.
The HEMS team have touched down in the past few minutes at Totland Rec and are making their way to the patient.
UPDATE @ 15:59 – The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service have confirmed they were called to the incident at 15:14.
A member of the public has provided a lift for the air ambulance crew, who are now on scene at The Waterfront.
UPDATE @ 18:55 – The patient, who suffered a cardiac arrest, has been rushed to St Mary’s Hospital by land ambulance.
Their condition is unknown.
