The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has attended to an unwell patient in Winford this lunchtime (Saturday).
Specialist flying doctors were called to the area of Winford Way off Cupresses Avenue at the request of the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service late this morning.
The yellow and green helicopter landed in the hamlet at around 11:40.
The air ambulance team have worked quickly to transfer the individual to the life-saving helicopter and onwards to a mainland hospital for treatment. They have spent only around 30 minutes on the ground.
With the patient now in the best possible hands, local paramedics are standing down.
It’s thought the person has suffered a medical episode.
