UPDATED: The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was called into action this lunchtime (Wednesday) after a man fell from a height at a residential property in Apse Heath.
At just gone 11:30 the life-saving helicopter – sporting its new yellow and green livery – landed in a field off Alverstone Road having been called to an address by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Island Echo understands the casualty fell from a height whilst carrying out tree cutting works in the rear garden.
Thankfully, the man has escaped any serious injury and has not required conveyance to hospital by the air ambulance, which has since left the scene.
It has been suggested that there was no available ambulances to respond to the incident.
UPDATE @ 13:15 – The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has completed a second mission, this time in Bembridge.
The helicopter landed at Bembridge Airport a few short minutes after leaving the scene in Apse Heath at just before 12:30, rendezvousing with 2 ambulance crews on the ground.
1 person has been airlifted to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, thought to be suffering from cardiac issues.
The helicopter took off at 13:00.
