UPDATED: Hovertravel have suspended their cross-Solent service this afternoon (Tuesday) due to adverse weather conditions.
Island Flyer is not currently operating between Ryde and Southsea as a result of the weather being experienced on and around the Isle of Wight.
The service has been out of action since 12:45, but the removal of push notifications and email updates by the company earlier this month means the public and media are not alerted to changes in the service status.
No other cross-Solent services are affected by the weather this afternoon.
Hovertravel say the next update will be at 15:00.
UPDATE @ 15:41 – Hovertravel have announced that services will be resuming at 15:45 from Ryde and 16:00 from Southsea.
UPDATE @ 16:20 – Hovertravel’s Ryde to Southsea service has been suspended once again due to the adverse weather conditions.
Island Flyer is currently sat on the pad at Southsea having completed just 1 crossing of the Solent. The 16:00 has failed to depart from Southsea as planned.

UPDATE @ 16:55 – Services remain suspended due to the weather conditions. An update will be provided at 17:15.
Wightlink’s 17:10 catamaran service from Ryde Pier Head has been cancelled, meaning foot passengers are currently unable to travel between Ryde and Portsmouth/Southsea.
