Both Wightlink and Hovertravel are having difficulties with the weather on their routes between Ryde and the mainland this evening (Tuesday).
Hovertravel suspended their Ryde to Southsea service at 12:45 and, apart from a 15:45 crossing from Ryde, have not operated since. However, the company have in the past few minutes said that they will be resuming the normal 1-craft timetable at 18:15 from Southsea.
Passengers looking for alternative travel with Wightlink aren’t in luck tonight as the catamaran service between Ryde Pier Head and Portsmouth Harbour is also disrupted as a result of the weather.
Wightlink say the 17:40 from Portsmouth and the 18:10 from Ryde have both been cancelled. Earlier this evening they cancelled the 17:10 from Ryde.
The operator’s Fishbourne-Portsmouth car ferry service is running with 30 minute delays. A revised timetable is also in operation due to a failure on board the new Victoria of Wight ferry.
