Isle of Wight shipping specialist Acclaim Logistics has acquired the Cowes depot and key members of the Steve Porter senior management team, it has been announced. During this process, Acclaim Logistics, with depots in Totton, Southampton, and on the Isle of Wight, ensured a seamless transition for both Island-based and mainland customers. Notably, key supermarket contracts have been preserved, ensuring the continuation of vital supply chain services. This transition was assisted by the transfer of nearly 20 of the Steve Porter team including Managing Director Malcolm Gibson. In addition to securing a formidable team, Acclaim has absorbed the Steve Porter site in Cowes, increasing their warehouse space from 8,000 sq. ft. to an impressive 15,000 sq. ft. Managing Director of Acclaim Logistics, Thomas Flood commented:
“This expansion enhances our capacity to meet growing demands and further solidifies our commitment to providing efficient and reliable logistical solutions for Island-based businesses”.
It was back in September that Steve Porter Transport went into administration, as previously reported by Island Echo. This absorption of Steve Porter operations represents a key milestone in Acclaim’s business development strategy and is anticipated to result in revenue growth exceeding 35%. This cements their position as the largest and most significant carrier of goods to and from the Isle of Wight, with a team unmatched in terms of experience and industry knowledge. Flood continued:
“We are excited about the potential this development brings to Acclaim. By absorbing the Steve Porter site, we aim to not only maintain but enhance the exceptional standards of service that both companies are known for. Our focus is on leveraging the combined expertise of our teams to drive innovation, deliver exceptional value to our clients, and create new opportunities for our employees.”
