HM Coastguard, Cowes RNLI and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service responded to reports of a woman in the River Medina near East Cowes last night (Thursday).
At just gone 21:00 the alarm was raised that a woman had been seen to enter the water at The Folly, Whippingham.
Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team were immediately tasked to the scene, alongside Cowes’ Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat.
An ambulance crew were first to arrive on scene and were able to confirm that the woman was out of the water and receiving treatment – a safe conclusion to the alarming call out for search and rescue teams.
The incident was quickly resolved with emergency services stood down accordingly.
Last night’s shout was the 100th call out of the year for Ventnor CRT.

A cry for help? Glad this lady was safely bought out of the river.
Night time swim? Maybe the water felt too cold once she was in.
