Some residents in Shanklin are without power this evening (Saturday), as 9 postcodes suffer from electricity outages.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks say that a fault was reported at 21:30, and that engineers are working to rectify the issue.
It comes after residents in areas of Arreton were also left without power earlier today, as first reported by Island Echo.
SSEN says that supplies to the following postcodes should be restored by 00:45:

For how much we pay for utilities, this is terrible
This seems to be a regular occorancy, on the island just recently, its like every week now somewhere is without electricity, what is going on??
And regardless of what we pay, a crystal ball does not always see a fault and sometimes a complete burn out that requires a lot of materials to repair with very high voltages but people like you moan and groan, become a keyboard warrior, fire from the hip because you did not take one second to think.
Again quelle surprise wonder what the excuse will be this time. It certainly won’t be the truth ie we cannot keep up with demand
I have never understood why southern and Scottish electric are in partnership,as if something goes wrong it is a massive journey for half of their workers to fix the problem, I blame the SNP,
